The McCully Log House
Provides an excellent example of an early American Log House. Because it has two stories, the structure is referred to as a “Log House,” rather than a “Log Cabin” (typically one-room, one-story homes). This example is unique in having an unusual double-decker front porch with the two massive logs that support the second floor cantilevered out to also support the upper porch.

Carnegie Library of Pittburgh Family & Local History Department
The Library’s Local History Department at CLP – Main (Oakland) is the place to come to research your family tree or delve into the history of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and the rest of the Keystone State. The Department’s extensive resources on genealogy and Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania history include historic clipping files and the Pittsburgh Photographic Library. This collection of more than 100,000 negatives and prints provides a visual history of our city from its origin through its industrial development and renaissance. As subject specialists, the Local History Department staff is always available to answer questions, provide research guidance and recommend and assist in finding materials.
Carnegie Mellon University Distinctive Collections

Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh Archives and Records Center
The purpose of the Archives and Records Center is to establish an archival and records management program for central diocesan administration, parishes, schools and all other diocesan related institutions and organizations. They collect, maintain and preserve the records of organizations and institutions engaged in the work of the Catholic Church in the six Southwestern Pennsylvania counties (Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Greene, Lawrence and Washington) included in the Diocese. The Pittsburgh Theological Seminary
The primary purpose of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary Archives is to provide for the efficient and systematic control of the creation, receipt, maintenance, use, and disposition of records. Records administration covers the management of records, regardless of age, to meet the administrative, financial, legal and historical needs within the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary’s offices and departments. Westmoeland Hisorical Society Archives
