Description:
They are the Resource and Research Center For Beaver County & Local History, founded in 1971 by a collaborative effort of the Beaver County Commissioners, Carnegie Free Library of Beaver Falls and the Beaver County Genealogical Society. Over time the genealogical society and the history center realized they shared a common goal: to collect and preserve Beaver County history and family genealogies and to make these materials available for the public’s use in a non-circulating library. After much discussion the decision for the two organizations to merge was reached and we became better known as the Beaver County Genealogy & History Center. The center was originally housed at the Carnegie Library in Beaver Falls, however, when it was determined that the building could no longer support the weight of our vast collection we relocated to the former county 911 center at Beaver Station Cultural & Event Center. The facility offers us the ability to make our collection available for patrons use and offers room for expansion as more items are donated or acquired.
