Description:

The rich industrial past of Western Pennsylvania should and must be preserved and the Beaver County Industrial Museum is working hard to that end. The museum is dedicated to the preservation of glass and steel in one location, as glass was the largest employer in the 19th century and steel the largest employer in the 20th century in the County. In 1980, 61% of the work force in Beaver County worked in a steel mill. Today there is but a handfull of steelworkers left in the county as most steelworkers local unions are now amalgamated locals.
