The Claysville "S" Bridge, situated in Washington County, Pennsylvania, is a notable historic structure constructed in the form of an S. Built of stone, this bridge played a crucial role in facilitating the transportation of wagons and stagecoaches during the westward expansion of America in the early 19th century. Spanning over Buffalo Creek, it was once an integral part of the Cumberland Road, later known as the National Road.
In recognition of its historical significance, the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission installed a historical marker at the site in 1947. Additionally, the Claysville "S" Bridge holds designation as a historic bridge by the Washington County History & Landmarks Foundation.
