Description:

The Salem Crossroads Historic District, designated as a national historic district, is situated in Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Encompassing the historic core of Delmont, originally known as Salem Crossroads, it consists of 64 contributing buildings. These structures, predominantly erected between 1830 and 1870, reflect the architectural heritage of the area. Among them are four log houses, numerous examples of Greek Revival style architecture, the Central Hotel, a Gothic Revival style church, a feed mill, wagon shop, livery stable, brickyard, blacksmith shop, and an old Ford Garage dating back to the 1920s.

Despite initial plans to transform the area into a living museum, such endeavors never came to fruition. The district's inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 underscores its historical significance.
