Location:

Alexander Street at Fourth Avenue, Brockway, PA 15824

Description:

The Brockway station stands as a historical railway station situated in Brockway, Jefferson County, Pennsylvania. Constructed in 1913 by the Buffalo, Rochester, and Pittsburgh Railroad, this one-story brick building exhibits Colonial Revival-style architecture. Resting on a poured cement foundation, it features a hipped roof adorned with red ceramic tiles.

During its operation, the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad served both daytime and nighttime trains traveling through the station along the BR&P route connecting Lackawanna Terminal in Buffalo and Baltimore and Ohio Station in Pittsburgh. Additionally, the company operated a local train route from Buffalo to DuBois, Pennsylvania, with stops at the station. B&O passenger service to Brockway continued until 1955, marking the final year of service on the BR&P line. Remarkably, it remains the sole surviving passenger station in Jefferson County.

Recognizing its historical significance, the Brockway station was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003 under the name "Brockwayville Passenger Depot, Buffalo, Rochester, and Pittsburgh Railroad."
