Description:

The Antiochian Village property has seen a long history of Christian worship, starting with the arrival of European immigrants during the 1700s. Scotch-Irish Presbyterians first gathered for church services on a hillside under the trees. A log church was built in the early 1800s, a brick church eventually followed, and in 1949 a summer camp for youth, Camp Fairfield, was established on the property by the United Presbyterian Church. The Antiochian Archdiocese purchased Camp Fairfield from the Pittsburgh Synod of the United Presbyterian Church in 1978, and has been operating Antiochian Village Camp since its first camping season in the summer of 1979.
