Bushy Run Museum Manager Matt Adams Introduces Himself in Letter
My name is Matthew Adams and I was born and raised in Altoona, Pennsylvania. My interest in history probably stems from the yearly Adams Family pilgrimage to Gettysburg. That interest certainly grew when my friend's older brother became a park ranger at Gettysburg, giving me a behind-the-scenes view of how history comes to life for the public.
Parks Conservancy Receives Grant to Improve Mellon Park
Thanks to the generous support of the Richard King Mellon Foundation, and in partnership with the City of Pittsburgh and the Friends of Mellon Park, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy announced today that it will invest $300,000 in improving the connectivity, accessibility, and safety on both sides of Mellon Park.
Museum Advocacy Update from PA Museums
The PA House and Senate will be in session on June 5 with a full June calendar of session days to hammer out the Commonwealth's 2023-24 budget.. The House Democrats' budget bill advanced, and it is headed to the House Appropriations Committee before final consideration. The bill mirrors what Governor Shapiro proposed in his Executive Budget.

Another Wonderful Life: the Art of Mary Stewart Exhibit
The Jimmy Stewart Museum will be featuring a new exhibit entitled Another Wonderful Life: the Art of Mary Stewart. Jimmy Stewart's sister Mary was a very talented artist who chose to go to Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon) in Pittsburgh to continue her art education. She then moved to New York and got a job using her artistic talents at Charm Magazine.

Hazelwood Local Releases Call for Artists
Hazelwood Local is teaming up with Hazelwood Initiative to deliver a sculptural art piece affixed to the north and/or east building faces of 4800 Second Avenue. The 4800 Gatewaywill serve as a welcome to passersby entering the Hazelwood neighborhood at its northern boundary, and identify the nexus of Hazelwood Green and the historic Second Avenue corridor.
PGH International Airport Call for Visual & Performing Artists
The Allegheny County Airport Authority (ACAA) accepts applications from individual artists or artist collaboratives for Rotating Art Installations at the Pittsburgh International Airport.
