Silver Eye Directer Announces Lab Fund in Letter

Dear Friends of Silver Eye,

The new Lab @ Silver Eye at 5228 Penn Ave, which includes our expanded digital lab and will include a new Education Center, will be a vibrant new hub for artists in Pittsburgh and the Bloomfield-Garfield community. We are creating a meeting place, classroom, and living room where our growing community of photographers, artists, researchers, and art lovers will come together to share work and ideas, and to create, learn, and connect.

We need your help to bring this new creativity and learning hub to our community! Contribute to The Lab @ Silver Eye Launch Fund and help us to furnish the space and create our initial round of programing.

The Lab @ Silver Eye will host everything from talks to screenings, portfolio reviews and salon socials. In-person workshops will include opportunities to work alongside artists whose work you know and love and youth workshops that will introduce the power of photography to the next generation of imagemakers. Browse our Library of photobooks, reserve an editing suite, host a meet-up, or share your work in progress and get feedback.

We are so excited to provide exciting new opportunities for photographers, artists, researchers, and art lovers to engage with photography and with one another in creating art and facilitating meaningful connections and experiences. Your support will help us to build out new programing and initiatives and purchase shelving, furniture, an AV system, and other equipment.
