Hereafter Regional Juried Exhibition 2024 - OPEN CALL
Craft objects have long been a vehicle for processing and understanding emotions, celebrating life, and invoking memory. For this exhibition, Contemporary Craft invites artists working with craft media, (including but not limited to wood, metal, fiber, glass, ceramic, found object, and paper) to respond to themes of grief, loss, joy, healing, and mourning.
ORA SEEKS HISTORIC PRESERVATION NOMINEES TO CELEBRATE AT MAY EVENT
The Oil Region Historic Preservation Awards is part of the ORA’s celebration of Historic Preservation Month, held each May. The program recognizes appropriate preservation, restoration, and rehabilitation projects, as well as individuals and groups committed to historic preservation. It creates an advocacy for historic preservation and enhances a regional historic preservation ethic within the Oil Region National Heritage Area.
Oil City Main Street Program Public Survey
The Oil City Main Street Program has begun preparing a voluntary design guide that will be tailored to Oil City’s three National Register-listed historic districts and other historic properties in Oil City. A consulting team has been retained to assist with this effort. The resulting design guide will provide guidance to property owners, tenants, contractors, design professionals, tradespeople, and others about the treatment and maintenance of historic buildings and properties. Use of the design guide will be encouraged to maintain and enhance Oil City’s authentic community character. No laws or regulations are proposed. Use of the design guide will be voluntary.

A free, on-line seminar will show how George Washington and other British Americans viewed the early backcountry through maps in the 1750s.
This live presentation, “Mapping the Backcountry before the American Revolution”, will be streamed on Zoom, Thursday, October 8, starting at 10 a.m.
