111TH ANNUAL EXHIBITION
The 111th Annual Exhibition will be on view starting February 20, 2025 at the Erie Art Museum. Under the curatorial direction of jurors Laura Domencic and Melanie Yugo, the 111th features 74 works of art by 60 artists. The 111th will be a first for the organization: the first anuual hosted by the Erie Art Museum. The 111th Annual will be on view until December 14, 2025.

Holding Still, Holding On
Holding Still, Holding On features new works by the CMU School of Art MFA Class of 2025—Frankmarlin, Izsys Archer, Tingting Cheng, Chantal Feitosa-Desouza, and Max Tristan Watkins. The exhibition spans wide-ranging media and highlights the distinct perspectives of these five artists as they complete their final year of study. Presented in The Warhol’s rotating exhibition gallery, the exhibition offers a dynamic exploration of contemporary artmaking.

The HORSEMANSHIP Handwriting and Art Contest Reception
A while back I was approached by Cindy Fulmer of Star Equestrians about exhibiting handwritten stories and art by young people on a theme of horses. Cindy provides equine therapy to help improve mobility and motor skills at her place in nearby Strongstown.

Wisdom & More: The Fracking Debate

Researcher and professor Jamie L. Jones, Ph.D., will present on the 19th century whale oil industry and how it was affected by Drake Well's success in August 1859.

The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination (IFCI) presents the exhibition Pittsburgh’s Avant-Garde featuring over 50 artists in tandem with the upcoming release of the book Pittsburgh Avant-Garde: 60 Years Inside the Underground Art Scene compiled and edited by Sheila Ali.

Wisdom & More: T.C. Joy Radiator Company
On Thursday, March 6, Dr. Rhonda Clark will present on the T. C. Joy Radiator Company of Titusville. Mr. T. C. Joy originally came to Titusville to make his fortune in the booming oil industry. Although this venture was ultimately a bust, Joy was able to find nationwide success in the manufacture of radiators and other heating-related innovations.
