Pine-Richland Sixth-Graders Complete Architecture Apprenticeship

A class of fourth-grade students from Pittsburgh Greenfield, a PreK-8 neighborhood school, participated in a trolley tour, “Pittsburgh People & Places,” on May 11, as a part of the Pittsburgh History and Landmark Foundation’s (PHLF) ongoing immersive educational experiences for K-12 students.
Grants Help Congregations Renovate Historic Religious Properties
A crew from Alex Restoration and Masonry Repairs worked on the renovation of the bell cot of Pittsburgh New Church in Point Breeze in May. The work included the removal of the existing mortar and caulking in the church’s bell tower, which was leaking. The tower’s renovated masonry was to be cleaned and its color and texture matched to the building’s exterior as much as possible.

Allegheny County to Light Iconic Sister Bridges

Landmarks Scholarship Reception Celebrates Community-Minded Young People
David Brashear, chairman of our organization’s Landmarks Scholarship Committee presented winners of three scholarships and 11 honorable mention award recipients at a reception held at the Grand Concourse restaurant in Station Square on June 27.
