Cuando el Río Suena—Jaime Guerrero

Jaime Guerrero discusses his exhibit at the Pittsburgh Glass Center, Cuando el Río Suena.

Award winning artist and sculptor Jaime Guerrero explores the fragility of life as it relates to the current United States border crisis, with its influx of refugees and asylum seekers being met with fear, separation, and often times a much harsher reality than they could have imagined.

Guerrero’s body of work created during a 9-month residency at Pittsburgh Glass Center opens our eyes and strives to connect people, building community from shared experiences, hopes and dreams, understanding and compassion. He hopes with this series of work to humanize the experiences of migrant youth and the true struggles they face in their quest for a better life.
