4-Part Series Workshop
Date: Thursdays, October 10-31, 2024
Description: In this series of workshops students will learn how to use a carving gouge and whittling knife to create several types of spoons. Students will be introduced to multiple techniques during this multi-week class including several carving techniques, sanding and finishing, and how to sharpen carving tools. Prijects include making tiny spoons, an eating spoon, a butter knife, and more!
For this workshop we will primarily use hand tools but students will be introduced to the bandsaw and can choose to cut out their wooden spoon blanks or have the instructor do so.
Tuition: $180 + $45 materials fee
Materials: All materials will be provided.
Cancellations and Refunds: Workshop cancellations are decided three business days before the start date. If workshops must be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the entire class fee will be refunded by check, to your credit card, or Contemporary Craft account for future workshops.
Refund Policy: Student refund requests must be made at least three business days before a class begins. There will be a $25 cancellation fee. No refunds will be given without three-business days notice. Processing of refunds takes approximately three weeks.

About the Artist: Teresa Audet is an artist and educator based in Pittsburgh, PA. Audet combines woodworking, basketry, papermaking in her studio and social practice. Her work focuses on play, resilience, and the transformative power of craft.
