CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Jimmy Stewart Video Essay Showcase
The Jimmy Stewart Museum invites all interested video essayists to submit audiovisual scholarship to its inaugural Video Essay Showcase. The panel will consider works on any theme or concept that relates to the life and/or work of Hollywood actor James Stewart (1908-1997).
The Cartoons of Randy Bish at Jimmy Stewart Museum
The Jimmy Stewart Museum will be featuring a new exhibit entitled The Cartoons of Randy Bish. RandyBish drew cartoons for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review in western Pennsylvania for over 31 years. Today,his work is distributed via Pennsylvania NewsMedia. Randy comes from Walkchalk, Pennsylvania. (Yes,it’s a real place, near Kittanning)
Another Wonderful Life: the Art of Mary Stewart Exhibit
The Jimmy Stewart Museum will be featuring a new exhibit entitled Another Wonderful Life: the Art of Mary Stewart. Jimmy Stewart's sister Mary was a very talented artist who chose to go to Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon) in Pittsburgh to continue her art education. She then moved to New York and got a job using her artistic talents at Charm Magazine.
Pittsburgh’s public art could be likened to the city’s fingerprint. It is unique, celebratory of local voices, and a testament to its post-industrial landscape.
As public art invites everyone to interact with the creative spirit of Pittsburgh, The (New) Pittsburgh Exposition offers seven public art sites in and around the city that have helped define its civic art scene.
