Weaving on 4-Harness Floor Looms

  • Depreciation Lands Museum (map)

Have you ever watched in fascination as cloth magically emerged under a weaver's hand? Perhaps you have watched a weaver at work at a museum or fair. Perhaps you have been lucky enough to acquire a loom of your own, and would like to know how to use it! Perhaps, like me, you have somehow, just always wanted to weave and create your own fabric arts.

Here is the perfect opportunity to try your hand and begin weaving or expand your horizons!

In this two day long class you will learn to weave a lovely scarf on the 4-harness floor looms at the Depreciation Lands Museum. This comprehensive class includes all the steps needed to design and plan the project, measure the warp yarn, warp your loom and produce the finished woven project, which is yours to keep, of course!

Under the guidance of Depreciation Lands Museum weaver, Karen Parsons, each student will work with their own set of equipment throughout the project. If you have your own 4 harness floor loom in good working order, you are welcome to bring it to use during the class.

Class size is limited to 4 students.---Vaccinations required, please---
Hours: Saturday, 9am - 4pm, Sunday, 1pm - 4pm.(you must attend both days)
The Tuition of $70 includes the use of looms and all tools. Please bring your own lunch on Saturday. Cold beverages will be provided both days.
