The Cartoons of Randy Bish

The Jimmy Stewart Museum will be featuring a new exhibit entitled The Cartoons of Randy Bish. RandyBish drew cartoons for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review in western Pennsylvania for over 31 years. Today,his work is distributed via Pennsylvania NewsMedia. Randy comes from Walkchalk, Pennsylvania. (Yes,it’s a real place, near Kittanning)

The cartoons that are on exhibit are of Hollywood stars like Gene Kelly, Carol Burnett, Lucille Ball and ofcourse, Jimmy Stewart. There are three Stewart cartoons including his newest one with John Waynefrom The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence. There are also cartoons of local celebrities like Mr. Rogers andArnold Palmer. The museum is planning to have Mr. Bish at the museum before the end of the exhibit todraw caricatures of museum visitors. (date to be determined).

Randy’s cartoons have appeared in USA Today, on Good Morning America, Fox News, C-Span, CNN, andmost importantly, on the refrigerator doors of his many readers. Randy has won such awards as theClarion Award for Editorial Cartooning and the Golden Quill Award for journalism. 

His cartoons may be found in the Charles Schulz Museum, The Jimmy Stewart Museum, The Gerald R.Ford Presidential Library and Museum, the Newseum, the Cartoon Museum in London, the Heinz HistoryCenter, The Library of Congress and George Washington’s Estate at Mount Vernon.
