HIP-HOP CAMP: DJ EDITION

The August Wilson African American Cultural Center is happy to bring back Hip-Hop Camp: DJ Edition with educator, Keygen Bryant (DJ KB).

Please note that this camp entails three sessions; with a final performance on December 17, 2022 at our Holiday Community DayAll sessions will be virtual with the final performance in-person.

The purpose of this camp will be to educate students on the basics of cue points, mixing, sampling, cataloging, and more, all while learning how to DJ on Serato DJ software. The three sessions will take place on October 8th, November 5th, and December 3rd. Sessions will take place virtually on Zoom and students will be emailed the Zoom link 3 days prior to each session. All students must have access to a computer and must download the free version of Serato DJ software to their computer. Each session is estimated to be 2 hours long, from 11am to 1pm. The final performance will take place in person and information will be given to parents and students in advance to prepare.

Each student will receive a AWAACC swag bag that will be mailed. The class is designed for students from 10 to 18 years old and class size will be limited to ensure all students receive the instruction to achieve their goals.
