Description:

The historic Lehner Grain-and-Cider Mill and House, situated at 548 and 560 Penn Street in Verona, Pennsylvania, dates back to approximately 1895 and holds significance in American history. Recognized for its historical importance, it was officially listed on the National Register of Historic Places on October 24, 1996.

Charles Lehner, the original builder of the mill, migrated from Austria with his wife, Mary Magdalene Huber, settling first in Pittsburgh's North Side before relocating to Verona. The mill commenced operations in 1896 under Lehner's management. Following his passing in 1908, his son Joseph took over until his death in 1920, after which the mill was sold by his widow, leaving their three daughters to handle its affairs.

In the 1990s, Christine Davis Consultants, specializing in archaeological studies and historic preservation, acquired ownership of the mill, demonstrating a commitment to its preservation and cultural significance. Once again, on October 24, 1996, it received formal recognition by being added to the National Register of Historic Places.
