Woodville President outlines 2023 goals, asks for support

As we come to the end of 2022, we are looking back on the wild ride we have all had the last couple of years. We are grateful to be here now, with our volunteers and our site intact! As we also look to 2023 and all that we wish to accomplish, I ask you to kindly remember Woodville in your year-end giving.

We hope that you will consider making a year-end donation to Woodville. As you know, we are home to the Neville House, the oldest residence in Allegheny County open to the public- a National Landmark. When you support Woodville, you are supporting one of the premier cultural resources in Southwestern Pennsylvania. Your support is invaluable and much neede.

All donations are fully tax-deductible, and this holiday season can be made in a variety of ways:

  • Online with debit or credit cards at our website, https://www.woodville-experience.org/more-ways-to-give

  • by check made to NEVILLE HOUSE ASSOCIATES sent to 1375 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017

  • or for information on stocks, planned giving, annuities, legacy gifts, or any other donation type, please contact me, Susan O’Toole, at NevilleHouseAssociates@gmail.com

And remember-your company may match your gift!

What does your support provide?

In 2022 we hired a new part-time site director, recruited new volunteers, finished the interpretive cabin, and held educational programs on nature, Woodville’s Archives and archaeology, and 18th century games, to name a few. We held quilling classes, sold out the Mother’s Day Tea, moved the gift shop and admissions into the Still House, and hosted a volunteer picnic. Most importantly, as everyone did, we worked to rebound from Covid. We could not do what we have done this past year without the generous support of donors and volunteers like you. But there is still much to be done!

Our 2023 Goals Include:

  • Continue research of the enslaved population that lived at Woodville to accurately interpret and teach this extremely important part of our history

  • Work to bring our 1810 barn to code and open for rentals and large programs

  • Add new partners for more events such as concerts and whiskey tastings

  • Expand our school programs and help bring underserved students to the site

  • Expand our open hours for tours

  • Acquire the assistance of a professional grant writer to help grow endowment

  • Complete and maintain the new website

  • Expand gift shop offerings and execute other methods to become finnancially solvent

One of the best ways to help Woodville is to become a supporter, as you are a vital part in all of these endeavors. Our supporter form is located on our website, www.woodville-experience.org, and includes the supporter-only option to buy custom Woodville ornaments by Wendy August Forge at a deep discount! Don’t delay, make your gift or join today.

Sending best wishes to each of you for happy holidays and a health 2023 to you and yours!
