Westmoreland Museum Director Steps Down

Dear Friends,

I am writing to let you know that I will be stepping down as The Richard M. Scaife Director/CEO of The Westmoreland Museum of American Art on July 22, 2022 to become the Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Wichita Art Museum.

This is a bittersweet moment for me, because the past four years at The Westmoreland have been some of the most fulfilling of my professional career. I am so proud of what the organization has accomplished, and it has been a privilege to work alongside such a talented team.

It is the Museum’s talented team who will continue to offer the region exceptional exhibitions that explore the definition of American art, provide diverse and engaging programs for all audiences, forge new and lasting partnerships, and ensure that we remain relevant and accessible to all.

During this time, the Board of Trustees has put in place a strong interim leadership plan. Suzanne Wright will serve as Interim Director/CEO and Chief Operating Officer and Rhonda Madden as Interim Deputy Director and Chief Advancement Officer while the Board of Trustees, under the leadership of Board President Helene Conway-Long, plans a search for the Director/CEO.

It has been my true privilege to get to know our members and supporters, and I will treasure my time at The Westmoreland. I know the Museum has a bright future ahead!

Gratefully,

Anne Kraybill
