Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center to open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays

Johnstown Area Heritage Association is pleased to welcome you back to our museums with a “soft open” this week! The Johnstown Flood Museum and the Heritage Discovery Center will be open on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays only from 10:00 am-5:00 pm beginning June 11, with the expectation that our regular opening schedule will resume later this summer. Visitors are asked to wear a mask as appropriate, and to practice social distancing.

For the time being, the Johnstown Children’s Museum (on the 3rd floor of the HDC) will remain closed, due to challenges associated with social distancing and sanitizing in a space with many hands-on exhibits that is intended for young children. We will offer activities especially for kids, however, at the Heritage Discovery Center from 11:00 am-4:00 pm on the days we’re open, starting with chalk in the courtyard, bubbles, hula hoops, ice pops, crafts and other simple fun — we’ll offer more and different activities moving forward. Watch our events calendar for details.

In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you soon.
