Broadway's "Finding Neverland" Comes to IUP - Hilton Garden Inn Indiana at IUP Announced as Presenting Sponsor
In a joint release from Hilton Garden Inn Indiana at IUP and the Lively Arts at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, it was announced today that the Hilton Garden Inn will be the presenting sponsor as the Lively Arts brings the Broadway tour of Finding Neverland to Indiana.
The engagement is part of the 2019–20 Ovations season, Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s premier performance series that includes touring artists and productions from around the globe.
The winner of Broadway.com’s Audience Choice Award for Best Musical, this breathtaking smash “captures the kid-at-heart,” says Time Magazine. Finding Neverland tells the incredible story of how Peter became Pan. In this musical, playwright J.M. Barrie struggles to find inspiration until he meets four young brothers and their beautiful widowed mother. Spellbound by the boys’ enchanting make-believe adventures, he sets out to write a play that will astound London theatergoers. With a little bit of pixie dust and a lot of faith, Barrie takes this monumental leap, leaving his old world behind for Neverland, where nothing is impossible and the wonder of childhood lasts forever. The magic of Barrie’s classic tale springs spectacularly to life in this heartwarming theatrical event. Critics raved that Finding Neverland is “far and away the best musical of the year!” (NPR) and Vogue cheered, “It’s a must-see you’ll remember for years to come!”
“As a local business, we feel that it is our true responsibility to be involved with and support campus and community partnerships on all levels. We are overjoyed to work with IUP Lively Arts on a regular basis and we look forward to a continued and bright future with the program,” said Ms. Jacqueline Montgomery, General Manager at Hilton Garden Inn Indiana at IUP.
Dr. Curt Scheib, Dean of Fine Arts at IUP, is equally thrilled. “We are tremendously grateful to the Hilton Garden Inn for their support of The Lively Arts and for being a presenting sponsor of the production of Finding Neverland. We recognize and celebrate them as one of our significant community partners as we together work to bring exciting arts events to the Indiana region.”
