Allegheny County Airport Authority Seeks Arts and Culture Intern

Under the direct supervision of the Arts & Culture Manager, the intern will work to support the Terminal Modernization Program (TMP) team by assisting with research, writing, data collection, and other activities pertaining to the TMP. This internship is a unique opportunity to participate in a wide variety of research and planning projects, build new connections, and contribute to the development of exciting projects for the Terminal Modernization Program at Pittsburgh International Airport.

At the ACAA we all have a role in the ambitious transformation of becoming a smarter airport that will enhance the passenger experience and deliver on our mission of being a global aviation leader. Here is how the Arts & Culture Intern - TMP will help: 

  • Assist team with inventory and documentation of current and past art exhibitions.

  • Organize and assist with the collection of appraisals related to art objects in the Airport’s current permanent art collection.

  • Research and write on topics such as digital art archive platforms and collections management.

  • Provide general support for art team – attendance at some staff meetings, many one-time only tasks, including technical support, filing, meeting notes, creating unique documents, help with array of artwork selection panels, dedications, community events, art events, artwork tours and other events.

  • Facilitate new arts exhibition tours as needed.

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned or required.

The following requirements list the minimum education to qualify for the Arts & Culture internship.

  • Must currently be enrolled in school as a second year (or above) undergraduate from an accredited four-year college or university in Business, Planning, Arts or related field.

  • Must maintain a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0 or greater.
