Birds of Venango County- From the familiar robins and cardinals in your backyard to the rare gull that gets caught in a storm and ends up at Kahle Lake, the birds of Venango County are fascinating.
For over four decades, a dedicated group of birders has been observing, documenting, and studying our local birds; their efforts culminated in the publication of Birds of Venango County in 2020, by bird expert Gary Edwards, with the collaboration of Jeffrey Hall. Drawing on his own experiences as well as the book and illustrating his points with his photographs, Jeffrey Hall will tell us surprising facts and stories about the birds we all know, highlight some of the birds that are 'specialities' of Venango County, and introduce some of the rare birds that visit the county only occasionally.
Jeffrey Hall's photographs and articles have appeared in Living Bird, Birding, Pennsylvania Birds, Underwater Naturalist, and many other publications and nature-related websites. A retired biology teacher, he is President of Bartramian Audubon Society and an active member of Seneca Rocks Audubon Society.
