Join Woodville Plantation on Sunday, May 9, 2021 in welcoming back some of the Neville House's most entertaining residents! After a long winter, the Woodville Dominique chickens return and we are inviting you to also welcome them back.
Dominique chickens are considered America's oldest breed of chickens, said to descend from chickens brought to New England from southern England during colonial times. They would also very likely have been seen wandering the grounds of Woodville and the John Neville House during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Visitors will also have the opportunity to feed the chickens.
House tours will also be commencing from 1-4pm. Admission is at the door and $7.00 per adult, $5.00 per senior/students age 6-18, and FREE for children under age 6 and for NHA members.
We are also always seeking out new volunteers to join our team here at Woodville. If you are interested in volunteering in any way, be it a docent, museum aide, or behind the scenes, we want to hear from you. Feel free to contact us at tiffanyatnevillehouse@gmail.com. You can also call us at (412)221-0348.
