Trailblazers of the Suffrage Movement – Celebrating 100 Years

  • Heinz History Center (map)

On International Women’s Day, join the Heinz History Center and Women in Film and Media Pittsburgh for the premiere of a new documentary honoring the 100th anniversary of the suffragist movement.

Imagine living in the United States as a woman in the early 1900s and not having the right to vote, own property, drive a car, or have a job. “Trailblazers of the Suffrage Movement – Celebrating 100 Years,” a new documentary created by Women in Film and Francis Rocks Productions, illustrates the hardships women faced as they fought for the right to vote and kickstarted the movement for gender equality.

During this special evening program, experience the premiere of this powerful documentary and hear from the descendants of those who spearheaded the suffrage movement – their stories, photos, and documentation.

A VIP reception will begin at 5:30 p.m. The documentary screening will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the Amy Lamb Scholarship presentation and a Q&A session.

ADMISSION

VIP tickets are $25 each. General admission tickets are free, but registration is requested. Please register on the Women in Film website.
