The Johnstown Flood Museum: 50 Years of Heritage

  • Johnstown Flood Museum (map)

Please join us as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Johnstown Flood Museum and look forward to the next 50 years! At 10:00 am we will hold a short ceremony to mark the occasion. Among those in attendance will be representatives from the offices of Sen. Bob Casey and Sen. John Fetterman; Commissioners Tom Chernisky, BJ Smith, and Scott Hunt; Ethan Imhoff, City Manager; members of the JAHA board of directors; and many others.

There will be a preview of new exhibitions planned for the Johnstown Flood Museum renovation, including 3-D photography of flood destruction, viewable with 3-D glasses; new artwork, including colorized historic photography of Johnstown; and an exhibition based on the first-person testimony of Victor Heiser.

Admission to the museum will be free on May 31. Please come and enjoy the museum and exhibition preview, which will be available the entire day.
