PERFORMANCES

Mexican Institute of Sound

5:30 p.m.

Mexican Institute of Sound, led by Camilo Lara, blends his eclectic interests in Cumbia and a range of Latin American genres with infectious beat-driven arrangements and a DIY/punk and high energy aesthetic.

Sudan Archives

7 p.m.

Sudan Archives is a unique solo performer who has emerged as an inventive avant-garde violinist and experimental beatmaker who loops and layers her violin and vocals to create a new minimalist hybrid approach to blending classical, West African, and hip-hop and R&B influences.

Kurt Vile and the Violators

8:30 p.m.

We welcome back Philadelphia-based songwriter and guitarist Kurt Vile as headliner of our Block Party. He is touring in support of his latest album, Watch My Moves, which marks his major-label debut on Verve Records, the label that coincidentally released the classic Velvet Underground and Nico album in 1967.
