People, places and things - this is what surrounds us, what we see as we live our lives. Our ability to capture images with our handheld devices has become a standard practice. We carry these images as memories, on our phones, tablets and computers. We share them through text messages, on social media. As an artist, Shawn Watrous is always looking, always taking pictures and making drawings. He captures his life, and the world around him as he sees and experiences it. The paintings in this exhibition are an expression of that experience, of looking, of seeing, of remembering.
