Did you enjoy the Petal and Stem features in our Floral Show last year? Need a little flora to brighten the winter doldrums? Floral artist Hannah Zenisekand woodworker Chris Weiland are collaborating on our next exhibit. The contemplative exhibit combines unique floral and dry stem arrangements with wooden vessels, bottles and baskets. Weiland’s structures make a unique frame to enjoy the pleasure of Zenisek’s floral forms. A fun and fresh spin on the art of "green" design and presentation.
Hannah is the owner-visionary of the new Petal and Stem floral design venture in Indiana. She believes in the “power of flowers” to provide us with feelings of life, vibrancy and hope. Her design ethos recognizes a connection between human and plant that goes back to the foundation of our species. Chris is a retired art professor from the wood studio at IUP. This show represents a new direction using reclaimed wood and patinas of outdoor exposure. Chris’ legacy includes founding “harvest to use” practices in IUP’s Center for Turning and Furniture Design. Hannah and Chris' intersection was brought about by Artists Hand founding partner Whit Watts who recognized how they might show so well together. Thanks Whit!!
