New Exhibition: Counterpressures

  • Carnegie Museum of Art (map)

The latest exhibition in our Forum series explores a topic that has local roots and global resonance. Counterpressures, which takes its title from Pittsburgh-born environmentalist Rachel Carson’s 1962 book Silent Spring, examines the fraught relationship between human activity and the environment’s response through the lens of ten Pittsburgh-area artists whose work ranges from sculpture to painting to sound installation.

Join us for the opening reception on February 20 from 7–8 p.m. The event features a gallery talk by curator Hannah Turpin, a live spoken-word performance by artist Tara Fay, and a cash bar. The reception is FREE with registration.
