Actors Paweł Wilczak and Maria Sobocińska, and Producer Jarosław Boliński in person!
It’s the year 1953. Warsaw is being reborn from the ruins of WW II and becomes the place where “everything is possible”. Pervasive uncertainty, denunciation and control are as constant as vodka, and good company. Mister T., a writer, earns his living by tutoring a beautiful, young student preparing for her exams in which their meetings lead to a passionate affair. A young man from a village, aspiring to become a journalist, moves into the flat next to Mister T’s. With their association, Mister T’s life spins out of control, when the authorities, following his every move, suspect him of plotting to blow up the Palace of Culture and Science, while his tutor shocks him with a confession. For him to survive, he and the audience moves from serious to absurd, sarcastic to satirical. Organized by the Polish Cultural Council.
Reception to follow screening. $15 admission.
