Make a Fine Cherry Bounce

In the 18th century, cherry bounce was quite the popular beverage and said to have been a favorite of George and Martha Washington. This year, Woodville Plantation is offering the opportunity to make your own cherry bounce.

Cost for this event is $5.00 and all participants must bring their own supplies.

Recipe items that students are to bring:

Large glass jar with tight sealing lid and wide mouth (2 quarts)
1 pound pitted cherries (most fifth freezer sections at food stores have them)
1 fifth of Rye whiskey or Brandy or clear whiskey ( Climax) brand
1&1/2 cups sugar or more to taste
Cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves
Whole nutmeg
Mace 2 pinches

Also bring for this particular recipe:
Additional 2 vanilla beans
Additional 1 pound cherries 3 weeks later

NOTEYou can substitute
cinnamon stick with fresh ground in shaker jar
fresh ground clove in shaker jar
real vanilla extract DO NOT use imitation

Participants are to be 21 years of age or older

SPACE IS LIMITED, SO RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED

NOTE: This is an in person event. Masks may be worn for those that prefer to do so and hand sanitizer will be available.
