Inside the cover of his book author Kevin Patrick writes, “I walked into White’s Woods and found what Henry David Thoreau found at Walden. The natural splendor and solitude attributed to famous faraway forests could also be found in the near-woods just beyond the backyard.”  This gallery owner is pleased beyond measure to share Patrick’s book in our collection of artistic expressions.  It is fascinating to read and contemplate photos of the author’s year traversing the 500 acre tract of the Allegheny.  There’s no mention of Pooh. That would be the Hundred Acre Wood.  But as with Milne’s imaginary woods, there are plenty of fun and life lessons within the book to pull you closer to a marvelous treasure that is easily available to all of us.
