About the Exhibition Assistants
Mara Hassan is a curator and incoming PhD student at Stanford University’s Department of Art and Art History, working at the intersection of queer theory, transgender studies, and contemporary art history. She recently completed a post-baccalaureate fellowship in the Department of History of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh. There, she studied transgender abstraction in contemporary portraiture, writing a culminating thesis on the late Greer Lankton’s use of abstracted signs of presence. She holds a BA in Art History with a minor in LGBTQ Studies from UCLA. She has held internships/research positions at the Hammer Museum, ONE Archives Foundation, The Mattress Factory, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), and UCLA’s Department of Digital Humanities.

Tiffany Sims is an emerging Art Historian and curator. She is the current Margaret Powell Curatorial Fellow at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Her research focuses on Black Contemporary Art and Performance Art/Studies. With an extensive dance background Tiffany is interested in how artists of color use their bodies as an enactment of the past. She recently completed The Hot Metal Bridge post-baccalaureate fellowship in the Department of Art and Architecture at the University of Pittsburgh. Tiffany holds a BA in Art History from the University of Florida.
