The Western Pennsylvania Sports Museum, part of the Smithsonian-affiliated Senator John Heinz History Center’s family of museums, will host several legendary Pittsburgh Steelers as part of a special public program, “Franco Harris and the Immaculate Reception: 50 Years Later,” on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 6:30 p.m.

Steelers Hall of Famer Franco Harris will be joined by his 1972 Steelers teammates, members of the 1972 Oakland Raiders, and other guests as they share their memories of the 50th anniversary of the greatest play in NFL history.

Panelists include:

  • Franco Harris, Hall of Fame running back, Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Joe Greene, Hall of Fame defensive lineman, Pittsburgh Steelers

  • John “Frenchy” Fuqua, running back, Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Jon Kolb, offensive lineman, Pittsburgh Steelers

  • Phil Villapiano, linebacker, Oakland Raiders

  • Mike Siani, wide receiver, Oakland Raiders

  • Other special guests and surprises!

Moderated by KDKA-TV Sports Anchor Bob Pompeani, the panel discussion will examine how the Immaculate Reception changed the fortunes of a franchise and a city, and how its legacy continues to grow five decades later.

Tickets to the event are $32 for general admission and $20 for History Center members. Tickets must be purchased in advance here.

Each guest will receive a free Black & Gold Smiley Cookie, thanks to Eat’n Park.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and visitors can explore the Sports Museum’s Super Steelers exhibition, which features a new installation chronicling the life and career of Harris.

Post #Francoing Photos to Win Tickets

The Sports Museum is challenging Steelers Nation to celebrate the play’s 50th anniversary by doing their best Immaculate Reception impression and posting #Francoing photos to social media.

Fans can post photos of themselves #Francoing by tagging the History Center on Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, and Facebook. Each fan will be automatically entered to win a Black & Gold prize package that will include tickets to the Dec. 22 event, tickets to the Steelers-Raiders game on Dec. 24, exclusive merchandise, and more!
