On Saturday, May 13, join us to kick off the new Carnegie Museum of Art Film Series programmed by acclaimed filmmaker Tony Buba! Our first screening features five short films, including Peggy Ahwesh's Verite Opera, Paranormal Intelligence, and Nostalgia for Paradise, three films made back-to-back that documented the lives of Ahwesh’s friends during the summer of 1983; Brady Lewis's Suicide Squeeze, a 1940s style “whodunit” pressed through the wringer of an optical printer; and Tony Buba's Home Movie, a three-minute movie in which Tony finally gets even with his brother after years of rivalry. The screenings will be presented by director Peggy Ahwesh, an experimental filmmaker and video artist.
