The Irma Freeman Center for Imagination is excited to announce our latest event, “Benefit for Neurofibromatosis”, a burlesque show hosted by Jinx De’Vill. This fantastic, tantalizing performance will serve as a fundraiser for the genetic disorder, Neurofibromatosis. Neurofibromatosis is a condition that affects how someone’s cells form and grow. It causes tumors to form in the brain, spinal cord and nerves. NF is usually noncancerous. There are three types of this condition; Type 1 usually appears in childhood, while Types 2 and 3 appear in early adulthood.
This will be Spellbound Burlesque Cabaret’s 3rd annual NF benefit show. All money raised on the night of event will be taken to the NFCA’s (Neurofibromatosis Clinics Association) “A Walk in the Wild” at the Pittsburgh Zoo on November 6, 2021. Additionally, all the money raised will stay here in the Pittsburgh area, specifically given to help children with Neurofibromatosis. The NFCA was hit hard last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and are in danger of having to close, thus no longer being able to help people with NF. They are asking for the support of the community now in order to keep benefiting others who are in need in our area. If unable to attend, please consider donating.
