Across the Walls: Second Chances Keep Us Safer

  • Carnegie Museum of Art (map)

This Saturday, we invite you to a special screening of Across the Walls, a documentary film that offers an intimate glimpse into the experiences of women sentenced to life in prison without parole in Pennsylvania. Commissioned for the 58th Carnegie International and produced by artist Njaimeh Njie, Across the Walls is a meditation on memory and manifestations for a free future.

Following the film, hear from panelists Ricky Olds, Executive Director of the House of Life, Richard Garland, Executive Director of ReImagine Reentry, and Terri Minor Spencer, Founder of Colorful Backgrounds EXPO, as they discuss how second chances given to those previously incarcerated can make our communities safer, more loving, and collectively thrive.
