Cut & Paste: A Group Exhibition is a collage art exhibition at the Irma Freeman Center for Imagination. Cut & Paste opened Friday, June 2nd and runs through July 7th 2023. The Closing reception is Friday, July 7th, 7 - 9 pm features live music by MicroPlastix! This IFCI exhibition features the work of 49 local, national and international artists:

Aletheia, Teresa F. Bailey, Eli Baum, Hannah Berg, Kim Breit, Abegail Bricker, , Gabriel Brown, Kathy Boykowycz, Lauren Broyles, Julie Cecchini, Emma Cummings, Charlotte Devon Scurlock, Camryn Drabenstadt, Carl Fuermann, Max Gonzales, Cassidy Grant, Eoin Guidas, Sheila Hawthorne Klotz, Hugues, Zach Kerchensky, Rachel Lange, Elizabeth Little-Colland, Leanne Longwill, Elvis Maryshine, Caroline Mead, Bill Miller, Dev Murphy, Eryn Oberst, Kerry Oberst, Jameelah Platt, David Pohl, Jack Puglisi, Robert Raczka, Deborah Reese, Samantha Rutledge, J. These artists are tied together by their medium of choice: collage. Webster’s Dictionary defines collage as “a piece of art made by sticking various different materials such as photographs and pieces of paper or fabric onto a backing.” Wikipedia states that “collage from the French: coller, ‘to glue’ or ’to stick together’; is a technique of art creation...by which art results from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.”

Cut & Paste is an exhibition of nearly 50 artists with their individual interpretations of “collage art". Although all artists were given the same prompt, the scale, dimensionality and materials vary greatly. IFCI hopes to challenge the viewer on their perception of “collage” with such a broad array of styles and artistic intentions.

We have commemorated this fabulous exhibition with a printed catalog edited by curator Sheila Ali. To support the Irma Freeman Center, and the project, patrons can pre-purchase the catalog for only $25 a copy at the Irma Freeman Center website (until July 6th) FInd them here!
