Description:

Stage 62 is the non-profit theater company in residence at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library & Music Hall in Carnegie, PA. What started in Bethel Park in 1962 (and yes, that’s where the name comes from!) as an adult education theater project turned into a thriving theater company that has produced shows continuously ever since. Their season includes four productions: a show for young audiences in February and a musical or play in May, July, and November, with occasional cabarets and special events added in for good measure.

Mission:
Stage 62’s mission is to unite the community in the joy of producing quality theater for all ages. They strive to enhance the cultural life in the area by offering affordable live theatre that features artists from our own community, and by providing an enriching experience for young and old to learn all aspects of theater arts and production through volunteer participation.

Community:
To give back to the community, each year during their fall musical we raise money for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. They’re also particularly proud of their outreach to youth: many of their board members hold education-related positions that provide regular contact with students from grade school to high school in many nearby school districts. Their volunteer kids participate both on and off-stage as a vital part of their productions, where they learn skills from how to audition to basic techniques in acting, singing, and dancing; stage carpentry and set painting; setting and running lights; stage management and direction; and more.
