Description:

Constructed in 1897, the Dr. Thomas R. Kerr House and Office, located at 438 4th Street in Oakmont, Pennsylvania, USA, is steeped in historical significance. Both the Queen Anne-style residence and the doctor's office situated behind the house were recognized for their architectural and cultural importance, earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 2003.

Today, the building serves as the Kerr Memorial Museum, offering visitors a glimpse into the lives of the Kerr family during the early 20th century. Dr. Kerr, his wife Nellie, and their daughter Virginia, lived as part of the upper middle class, embodying the spirit of the era from 1900 to 1910. Virginia, a dedicated educator, spent 42 years teaching English at local schools. Upon her passing in 1994, she bequeathed the house to the Borough of Oakmont, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
