City Theatre is a professional theatre company is known for its dedication to producing contemporary plays and commissioning new works by both regional and national playwrights. Established in 1975 as the City Players, the company originally toured performances in schools, parks, and community settings before becoming affiliated with the University of Pittsburgh and later becoming an independent non-profit organization.
