Description:

Epiphany Church is a historic Roman Catholic parish church located at 184 Washington Place in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and is part of Divine Mercy Parish, which also includes St. Benedict the Moor and St. Mary of Mercy. Established in the early 20th century as part of a relocation and rebuilding effort for Pittsburgh’s Catholic community, the parish traces its roots to the sale of the original St. Paul Cathedral site and served for a time as the pro-cathedral while the new St. Paul Cathedral was constructed.

The church building, designed in a Romanesque style with Byzantine details by architect Edward Stotz, features significant artistic elements including stained glass windows by George Sotter, a Venetian mosaic tympanum, and marble sanctuary work from Pietrasanta, Italy. Over the decades, Epiphany has adapted to dramatic neighborhood changes and continues to serve parishioners, Duquesne University students, and the wider community through sacramental life and parish ministries. The parish administrative offices are based at 164 Washington Place in Pittsburgh.
