The Social Significance of Fan Language

Woodville hosts virtual brunch series on April 24th.

The language of the fan was a vital aspect of a lady's expression but regardless of how fashionable her fan was, knowing how to hold it correctly was quite crucial. It was also a one of the many methods a lady would use to communicate with. This included the accepting or rejection of a potential suitor.

Fan language spans many eras and cultures. In our first lecture of the virtual brunch series, we will discuss some of these cultures and the integral role that fan language played in each one. There may even be a short lesson in how to properly use your fan!
The ticket price for this event includes a boxed brunch with a special favor that the ticket holder can take home to enjoy while watching the fun and informative virtual presentation.

A presentation-only option is available for those only interested in the presentation.
Ticket prices are as follows:Presentation + Brunch Package - $15.00 per personPresentation Only - $5.00 per person
Cut off date for ordering the brunch boxes is April 14, 2021. After this date and up until the day of the event, the presentation only option will still be available for those still wishing to participate.
In the week leading up to the event, time slots will be available for picking up your brunch box.
