Message from Bushy Run Battlefield Heritage Society President

In keeping with the mission of Bushy Run Battlefield  Heritage  Society to improve our facility organization,  the position of Museum Facilitator has been updated to Museum Manager. The title and duties have been changed  to allow  further enhancement and preservation  of  Bushy Run Battlefield as an historical, educational  and recreational resource for the community.

The new Museum manager is Matt Adams who before joining Bushy Run Battlefield  Heritage Society was with the  Railroad Memorial Museum in Altoona. He is a 2018 graduate of Penn State University with bachelor's degrees in the Arts and Sciences. Matt will be fully involved with the upcoming events as well as the much anticipated 260th anniversary of the Battle of Bushy Run. Please stop by the Museum office and say hello to Matt. If you would like to be part of the Bushy Run family,  please consider volunteering for any of the exciting upcoming events including the 260th Bushy Run Battle Re-enactment. Your help and suggestions would be most appreciated.

I, as well as the Board  want to extend a generous  thank you to  Emily Liska for doing a tremendous job as  temporary museum manager these last several months. She has brought new ideas to the BRBHS and her continual involvement as a volunteer will be of immense value.

We are looking forward to a new and exciting season full of events that will be interest to many. We are especially looking forward to our 260th Bushy Run Battle Re-enactment. As has been done in years past,  there will be Native American as well as  British, and colonist re-enactors to help educate visitors in the life styles, customs and daily living of these respective groups. In addition, there will be full reenactments of the battles as they  occurred on August 5-6, 1763. The event will be as “past practices” similar to those carried out in the past. Please consider volunteering for this memorial event as well as those on the schedule. Sincerely looking forward to seeing you in the near future.

 Thanks for your continued support,

Bonnie Ramus
