JAHA seeks museum and maintenance staff
Then Johnstown Area Heritage Association is currently seeking staff members! The following positions are available:
Maintenance/Landscaping/Janitorial (Peoples Natural Gas Park) Part-time position (32-34 hours/week with overtime possible). Duties include landscaping, lawncare, maintenance, setup, teardown and cleanup for events and janitorial services. The ability to lift 50 pounds is required, along with the ability to work a flexible schedule with some evenings and weekends necessary. Must have reliable transportation. $9.00/hour
Admissions/store clerk – Part-time (20- 30 hours/week). Employee will greet museum visitors, orient them to galleries, operate a POS system to sell admission tickets and shop merchandise, and turn on/off exhibits at Johnstown Flood Museum and Heritage Discovery Center. Hospitality skills and interest in local history are important. Weekends and some evenings required; must have reliable transportation. $8.75/hour
Children’s Museum Docent – Part-time (20- 30 hours/week). Employee will interact with visitors and children, turn on/off exhibits, facilitate visitor experience, assist in presenting crafts, activities, events, and birthday parties. Teaching experience preferred. Weekends and some evenings required; must have reliable transportation. Clearances required. $8.75/hr.
