Fineview Citizens Council Utilizes $210,000 Loan to Rehab North Side Houses

As the lending arm of Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation, Landmarks Community Capital Corporation (LCCC)—a non-profit subsidiary— advances the cause of preservation by extending loans to projects that facilitate renovation activities in historic neighborhoods throughout the Pittsburgh region.

Among the projects we have so far financed in 2020, is a $210,000 loan to the Fineview Citizens Council on the North Side of Pittsburgh, to help continue renovation of houses on Upper Lanark Street. The initiative will create needed quality affordable housing in the neighborhood.

Fineview Citizens Council, a non-profit organization started in 1983, to organize the community in the areas of safety, city services, beautification, recreation/events, youth services, and real estate redevelopment.  Under its current leadership, the Citizens Council is making major strides in real estate redevelopment as it continues its plan to improve Lanark Street. It owns 20 land parcels and five houses on Lanark Street as well as several other scattered parcels of land in Fineview.

Certified by the United States Department of the Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), LCC makes sixty percent of its loans in low-to moderate-income neighborhoods to either for-profit or non-profit developers.
