Downtown Latrobe’s September Shop-Hop Night Featuring an Art Walk, Live Jazz, and Downtown Latrobe Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Wednesday, September 8th, downtown Latrobe welcomes visitors and guests of all ages to their monthly Shop-Hop Night featuring an Art Walk, live jazz, and a special ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of several city-wide improvements.

Beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the downtown Latrobe Parklet, visitors can join Latrobe Community Revitalization Program (LCRP), downtown Latrobe merchants, and city officials in celebrating the completion of much anticipated improvements to downtown Latrobe’s streets and acknowledge all involved in bringing these improvements to fruition. The celebration will conclude with a ceremonial ribbon cutting.

Immediately following the ribbon cutting ceremony, visitors are encouraged to participate in an “Art Walk” and enjoy a selection of artwork by local artists, listen to some live jazz by Kyle Greene of KGB sponsored by LCRP, and shop local during downtown Latrobe’s monthly Shop Hop Night. Participants will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece of art while supporting the participating local businesses throughout downtown Latrobe. The evening will conclude at 7:00 p.m.

“The improvements to our downtown have been, at times, tough to endure, but we are so happy with the outcome,” says Latrobe Shop Hop Night founder and coordinator Emily Pasqualino. “I have been wanting to orchestrate an Art Walk Shop Hop Night for some time now. I think it’s a great marriage supporting the arts and our downtown merchants together. Latrobe Art Center, as always, was very willing to help organize the event.”

All artwork included in the evening’s “Art Walk” will be provided by a selection of Latrobe Art Center’s gallery participants and will be available for purchase through the art center.
